What the app changes
- 1Your hikes, even without network
Keep a hike offline before you leave: the hike page and the map stay readable without network.
- 2Your logbook
"I've done it", then a long press on the stamp: the station you started from joins your logbook. Your outings add up, with no streak to keep and no ranking.
- 3The day's timetable
The train or liO bus there and back, with the walking time to the start of the trail.
On Android, you can try it now
The app is in closed testing on the Play Store. To add you as a tester, Google needs the Gmail address linked to your Play Store: send it to me and I'll send you the link.
Questions
When is it coming?
On Tuesday 27 October, on Android and iPhone. If you're on the list, you'll know on the day.
Does it cost anything?
No. Like the site, it is free and has no advertising.
Do I need to create an account?
No. No account is required. On Android, an optional account lets you find your logbook on another phone.
How is it different from the site?
The hikes and timetables are the same, updated at the same time. The app opens from your home screen, in its own window, without a browser bar. The caminada.fr site stays online.
What do you do with my address?
A welcome email, news from the testing phase, then the release email on 27 October. After that, this list stops. To follow new hikes, there is the newsletter, which is separate.
